These are the first okra plants I ever tried to grow and the first few pods appeared before any of the flowers. This was after aphids had attacked the plants and I sprayed them with diluted Dawn dish detergent and then rinsed it off after the aphids were dead. A few days later I picked and ate the little pods which were delicious. The aphids never returned and before long the plants began flowering. The flower on the plant to the right is on a Dwarf Green started Jun 9, 2020, and the plants on the left which were started from seed on June 11 are Burgundy.
