Desert Dandelions seem to grow out of thin air. I first saw this captivating early blooming weed providing fields of beautiful yellow splashes of color at the wind farms near the Palm Springs exit off I10. The delicate flowers are somewhat similar to those of Sow Thistle, but the plants are very different. Their flowers are more delicate than those of common dandelions and a softer shade of yellow.
I named this blog Ann's Air Gardens at a time when I didn't have a yard and could only grow plants indoors in Aerogarden planters.
Currently we are transitioning between two homes, moving into one with enough ground to grow some food and out of one where I only have containers sitting on top of concrete. That notwithstanding I have grown squash, melons, air radishes, tomatoes, okra, and a couple dozen different culinary herbs outdoors in pots, as well as salad and soup greens.
I used to hate to cook, but that changed when a company called Temu convinced me to buy a discounted Wancle sous vide cooker.
The Wancle immersion/circulation cooker fits in my Instant Pot's stainless steel inner pot as well as the pot from my Foodi. Temu kindly sold me a beautiful silicone cover that fits both to ensure that my poached eggs come out perfect every time.
