High on my list of "crops" I can grow in water indoors as microgreens are Daikon radishes, which I love to buy for Phickle making. Fermented Daikon radishes are right up there with Phickled turnips on my list of good munchies. So I have lots of radish tops to stick in water and leaf out on the window sill. As with the leek shoot that surprised me with a flower last summer, I did not know that radishes would bolt from the cut off tops. Also as with the leek I didn't know that radish flowers are edible. So now I am quite eager to see this open up (so that I can eat it! ).
I tried to eat radish greens before and did not like the flavor or texture, but Daikon radish greens are different. They are not as fuzzy and taste much like the radishes themselves. They are also pretty.
