I really didn't know what I was in for when I intercepted these desert plants on their way to the Green Waste bin where a friend's neighbor planned to dump them. I made a raised garden for them by stacking some old tires in a pile. After a few years of just sitting there being sort of an eyesore, they yelled "Here I Am!" by spouting huge stalks which turned into these branches of flaming orange.
From the leaves I was thinking it might be an aloe ahmarensis, but the flowers are more like Aloe antandroi so maybe it is yet another kind of aloe plant. If I figure it out I'll let you know.
