This cove is billed as an "easy" half mile hike, and it certainly wasn't Mt. Everest, but neither was it a flat trail. A walking stick is recommended, not only to help navigate the ups and downs, but also in case you meet up with a stray coyote.
Turkey Cove is accessible from Katherine's Landing at the lower end of Lake Mohave, which is part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Those over 62 can enter free if they have an America the Beautiful Senior Pass or its earlier version, the Golden Eagle Pass.
These bushes provided lovely shade so that I could sit on the sand and eat my bag lunch. There was no shade at the water's edge, but I still had a lovely view.

Here is a little pool created by the windstorm we had a view days ago, but most of the water evaporated out.
Ah, but there is the water, to my left, and not a soul in sight, just a few birds.
