Halloween is absolutely my favorite time of year, so it was a joy to learn that right in my own "backyard" so to speak, we have a neighbor who gets serious about his pumpkin carving. Not only are his designs ingenious and well crafted, but the manner in which he decorates his pumpkins leaves the insides intact so that the pumpkin meat can be used to make pies after the decorations have outlived their seasonal usefulness.
Neighbor says his main tool for carving this pumpkin was a butter knife, but a glance at his workshop table revealed the fact that he used a spoon for scooping, and several sharp tools to aid with his design.
My kind as well as talented neighbor makes a half dozen or so of these pumpkins to give away as gifts every year. What a guy!
