Not pre-owned, as that euphemism puts me over the edge. There is nothing wrong with a good used car. Not wanting to be caught unprepared, whether I need one or not, I'm usually on the prowl for late model used cars with the features I want. That way if I suddenly need one, I have an idea what to expect. Of course, the last purchase was made on the spur of the moment after I had spent two weeks carefully researching and weighing all the options. When I went to test drive the sensible car I had so deliberately chosen, what should I spot sitting under the shade of the only tree in the car lot, but an import I'd never heard of with more features than I'd ever dreamed of and a price tag lower than my targeted vehicle. I bought it on the spot and drove it every day for six years.
I won't even name the brand because you probably never heard of it and the company went out of business anyway. So, lamentably, I cannot go there again, although I never regretted that purchase for a moment.
But I was looking at listings again recently, and came across another unknown: the Seat Leon. Now to my ears that is a strange name for a car, so I had to have a look. This was the company that advertised them: car leasing
The company is called BuyYourCar, and their claim to uniqueness is that you can search not only for new and used cars, but also for car and van leasing and other modes.
You can tell it is a British site because they spell in the UK style and call their A/C "climate control." But Seat is a Spanish make, and this is what it looks like:
It is cute, but I like the Ibiza better. Not to worry, BuyYourCar has those too, and now that Seat is part of Volkswagen, they should start becoming available in the US soon. Well, by the time I need to take another look, in any case.
