We never got this when we were in Ariziona, but Sprout's Farmers Market in Phoenix sells a scrumptious marbeled Deli Rye that goes well with spicy mustard, mayonnaise, and whatever fillings are on hand. It is sometimes available at Grocery Outlet stores in Southern California.
Today I'm having it with turkey pastrami with pepper jack cheese layered with a generous mound of my hydroponic scallion tops minced with a few leaves of basil that needed pinching back.

Hey, I had a turkey on rye sandwich today too :) I can't believe that purple flower is edible, I've never seen anything like that here before. I'll have to keep that in mind next time one of the kids asks me to list every food that's purple i can think of!

Edible purple flowers include pansies, too! And although the love ditty says violets are blue, there are purple violets and they are also edible. But I think these Bellflowers are tastier.
