Our first little hydroponic babies are now almost four days old and they are absolutely captivating. Here is an update on the marigolds:
Yes, I would definitely call those sprouts!
No dirt, no bugs (at least not yet!), so this is the only way for nomads like us to garden. All we have to do is stop by to admire them from time to time, and who could resist?
When the plants got high enough to touch their little plastic dome lids, we popped them off. That was not hard work.
There are three buttons on the front panel of the AeroGarden 3. The one on the left lights up when it is time to add a nutrients tablet. These come individually wrapped in a cellophane strip. No dirty hands. The button on the right will light when it is time to change the bulb. That could get pricey, but already these little plants are more entertaining than a movie show.
A button in the middle lets us turn the lamp off if it is interfering with our activities. So far it has not. We like Happy Light technology, so the planter just doubles as a lamp for us. Soon it will be a very pretty lamp unless we are mistaken.
In any case, we like it well enough to have already ordered a Deluxe model, with seven growing holes to fill. More babies, more photos!
