I finally got some dandelion seeds from my brother's yard to sprout in the AeroGarden, but they took a long time, and shortly after they germinated I took a look at some of the "weeds" that sprang up along the sidewalk after the rain and noticed that some of them had a slight resemblance to dandelions, but had purple leaves and multiple flowers on each stem. The flowers were smaller than I thought dandelion blossoms should be, and when they turned white, the appearance was a bit different:
Fascinated, I decided to look this "weed" up online and after some searching, learned that it is Sonchus oleraceus.
